The question everyone asks before their first group meetup, and almost no site answers honestly.
Testing is the entry ticket, not a formality
- A full STI panel is standard practice before attending. Bring the sheet; it is checked at the door.
- The sheet is checked and then destroyed on the spot. Nothing is photographed, filed, or stored — safety and anonymity are not a trade-off here.
- Recent means recent. A year-old result tells the room nothing about tonight.
Risk grades: everyone knows the ceiling before it starts
- Events are announced with a risk grade, so you choose with your eyes open instead of negotiating under pressure in the room.
- Lower grades mean barrier use throughout. Higher grades exist only among members whose testing and history are known to each other.
- You never have to justify choosing a lower grade. Nobody is talked upward.
Signals: consent you can read across a room
- A visible signal — a wristband colour — tells everyone what you are open to right now, without a conversation you would rather not have.
- Signals can change during the night. Changing yours is normal and needs no explanation.
- A signal is an invitation to ask, never a blanket yes. Ask anyway.
The rules underneath
- Everything happens inside what is fully consented. Crossing a stated line means permanent expulsion.
- Nothing painful, harmful, or damaging — no concept overrides that ceiling.
- No money changes hands. ZAVOS is non-profit; paid participation is banned.
